News is trickling out today from various sources that the Disneyland Resort will be calling back roughly 1,000 Cast Members in the coming days. These Cast Members will be used as Disneyland launches a brand-new hard ticket event at Disney’s California Adventure premiering as early as mid-March, per Carlye Wisel on Twitter:
This event would feature dining and shopping experiences only at California Adventure. Disneyland Park will not be open, and attractions within California Adventure will not be operating. This news comes on the day that California Adventure celebrates its 20th Anniversary.
Currently, Disney has been operating select dining and shopping experiences at their Downtown Disney area and outdoor dining at select venues on Buena Vista Street inside California Adventure. This new event will essentially be an expansion of what the Disneyland Resort is already doing.
Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock shared a letter to Cast Members and Travel Partners regarding this news earlier today. He noted that Avengers Campus is making great progress — although they are not ready to unveil it to the world just yet. He is excited to bring more Cast Members back to work and allow for more dining and shopping experiences at the Disneyland Resort.
