We recently got news that on April 29th we will get our first look at the Disney Wish which debuts in 2022. Today, Disney gave us a look at the Grand Hall and the choices they made in designing such.
Disney says “enchantment” was their special ingredient in designing the Grand Hall. Disney also notes that Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars characters will all be a part of the Disney Wish.
The Disney Wish continues the Disney Cruise Line tradition of incorporating an elegant design with a tribute to the golden age of cruising. The Disney Wish as previously announced will feature Captain Minnie Mouse on the bow for the first time. The stern of the Wish will have a custom sculpture of Rapunzel suspended by her golden tresses. Rapunzel will appear to be decorating the exterior of the ship with a paintbrush and her friend Pascal.
Inside the Grand Hall is the “castle on the seas” as Disney likes to call it. This Grand Hall uses Gothic, Baroque, and French Rococo influences in its design. Glittering trails of pixie dust adorn majestic three-story columns and flow to a chandelier inspired by the film Cinderella. This Disney Princess will also be featured in a bronze statue within the hall.
