Each Friday, the Crescent Lake Club brings you the latest Foodie Find – a review of a dish, cocktail or even a restaurant that you’ve been missing out on!
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Walt Disney World’s Beach Club Resort is known for it’s delectable desserts. Sure you can get a burger and some tots (and a really good grilled cheese–more on that for another Foodie Friday), but let’s be real, everyone knows the main reason guests visit Beaches & Cream is for the ICE CREAM!
On a regular day, I typically order up a strawberry milkshake or one of the specialty sundaes like the ‘No Way Jose’ but for special occasions and sharing amongst friends/family, you gotta go with the Kitchen Sink. Our crew did just that in celebration of my 30th birthday.
We decided on the traditional version to get the original experience. As noted above they do offer a Chocolate Lovers, or Neapolitan version of the Kitchen Sink. When they say ‘every topping we have’, they mean it! From short bread to brownies, cherries, nuts, candy bars, cookies and a WHOLE CAN OF WHIPPED CREAM! Traditionally when serving the Kitchen Sink, the cast members dim the lights, play music, and serve this giant dish in a fun, unique way! Let them know if you are celebrating anything so they can make a big announcement!
While the menu recommends that it serves four, our group of four definitely had ice cream and toppings to spare! It’s a fun dish for sharing and celebrating or even if you are just looking for the next foodie challenge. I think everyone should enjoy the Kitchen Sink at least once, but this one is not for the faint of stomach. Come hungry and with your sweet tooth!
