Let’s take a look at what is currently under refurbishment and what is upcoming at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort as you plan for your upcoming trip!
2022 Refurbishments
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is undergoing a refurbishment. Guests may see or hear construction during daytime hours. Most resort amenities will be uninterrupted.
- Beginning July 14th, Narcoossee’s will be unavailable due to refurbishment. Currently there is no reopening date.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be undergoing an expansion, guests will see and hear construction at certain times of day. To minimize disruptions, activities that may create noise will not start earlier than 9 a.m.
- Beginning August 15, 2022, Kona Cafe will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, Guests may continue to use the Mobile Order service through the My Disney Experience app to order select breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings from Kona Island.
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort
- From October 3 through mid-December 2022, the Congress Park leisure pool and the Treehouse Villa pools will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, the High Rock Spring Pool, Grandstand Pool and Paddock Pool will remain open during usual operating hours.
Disney’s All-Star Sports
- Guests room refurbishments are taking place in phases. There is no current end date to this refurbishment project. During this time, guests may see or hear construction and to minimize disruptions, activities will not begin earlier than 9 a.m.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Festival of the Lion King is closed for refurbishment from July 5th through July 15th.
Magic Kingdom
- Walt Disney World Railroad is closed for refurbishment until further notice.
Epcot
- Canada Far & Wide is closed for refurbishment until November 2022.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-A-Long is closing August 22nd until further notice.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach
- Disney’s Blizzard Beach is closed for refurbishment until further notice.
Disneyland
- Tarzan’s Treehouse is closed until further notice and undergoing a retheming.
- Mickey’s Toontown is undergoing a major renovation and will reopen early 2023.
- Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage is closed for refurbishment until July 25th.
2023 Refurbishments
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower
- The feature pool and whirlpool spas at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be closed for refurbishment from January 9, 2023 through early April 2023. Bay Cove Pool and the leisure pool will remain open. Work will begin at 9:00 AM daily and be finished by dusk.
Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
- From January 9, 2023 through early April 2023, Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and whirlpool spa will be closed for refurbishment. The water play area and Meadow Snack Bar along with the Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool and its nearby whirlpool spa will remain open. Work will begin at 9:00 AM daily and be finished by dusk.
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort
- From early January 2023 through late-March 2023, High Rock Spring Pool and On the Rocks Pool Bar will be closed while the pool undergoes refurbishment. The Grandstand Pool, The Paddock Pool and Congress Park Pool will remain open. Guests may see and hear construction, but should not hear noise from guest rooms between dusk and 9:00 AM.
