D23 Expo is here and last night Disney Parks, Experiences and Products held their showcase of what’s to come across the world! There is so much in store so let’s dive right in.

Disney previously announced Avatar would make its way to Disneyland Resort. We finally got a look at those plans. Avatar will join the lineup at Disney California Adventure park with a brand new water based attraction taking aspects of Avatar: The Way of Water and the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ice.

Another surprise was the announcement of a brand new Coco themed attraction coming to Disney California Adventure. This will be a boat ride using the latest technology. The first ever Coco attraction in a Disney park will break ground in 2026.

The long wait is over! Magic Kingdom will finally get a new nighttime parade. Disney Starlight will debut in summer 2025. The parade will feature characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios films “Peter Pan,” “Encanto,” “Frozen,” and more.

Disneyland Paris is undergoing a lot of work at Disney Adventure World with a huge Frozen expansion opening in 2026 and now a brand new Lion King themed land. This land is the first ever for Disney to be featured around this beloved property. A flume ride will headline the area with more details to be announced later.

Moving back over to Disneyland, and celebrating Walt Disney himself. A first of its kind audio animatronic will showcase Walt in a whole new way. Guests will be able to see Walt in this new form in 2025. He will rotate with Walt’s first major animatronic Abraham Lincoln in the Main Street Opera House. Imagineering is even working with the Disney family on bringing this to life.

Tropical Americas has been confirmed for Disney’s Animal Kingdom! From Encanto to Indiana Jones, guests will no longer be able to get that iguanodon. Work on this new 11-acre land will begin later this year and be completed in phases so don’t say goodbye to Dinosaur just yet. The expansion will feature three attractions an open in 2027. The Indiana Jones attraction will feature a new separate storyline from the ride in Disneyland. The Madrigal family casita will debut a brand new attraction to Animal Kingdom where guests journey aboard furniture that has come alive in the casita.

The new film inside the Tree of Life on Discovery Island that is based around Zootopia will debut in winter 2025. The title of the show is Zootopia: Better Zoogether!

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has an opening date at Disneyland! This new and highly anticipated attraction will open November 15th, 2024 at Disneyland park. Critter Country will also be renamed to Bayou Country to mark the occasion.

Two new lounges are coming to Walt Disney World! Previously announced the new tavern themed to Pirates of the Caribbean will open at Magic Kingdom in 2025. Over at EPCOT, a new lounge will debut at Spaceship Earth in the former corporate lounge. The space will provide views not normally seen. The new lounge will also debut in 2025.

Test Track 3.0 will debut in 2025! Walt Disney Imagineering is working with Chevrolet to push innovation forward. The queue will feature six distinct exhibits, and within each room celebrate the vehicles – and people behind the vehicles – that push the envelope and help get people to our next chapter in our motion journey. New show scenes will be added showcasing technological advances and how our lifestyles and relationships to mobility connect everyone. Guests can enjoy a joy ride through scenes focusing on onboard technology, customization and personalization. Followed by a trip through a scenic outdoor route.

A big surprise to many was the announcement of a new land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Monsters Inc. will bring the long rumored Door Coaster to life with Disney’s first ever suspended coaster.

No details on where or when this land will debut have been announced just yet.

That is not all for Pixar. Cars is coming to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World! This all-new land will feature two new attractions. One attraction will invite you on a thrilling rally race through the mountains. Take on wild terrain as you race across the landscape climbing mountain trails, dodging geysers and — Mater’s favorite — splashing through mudholes. The second attraction will be geared towards the littlest racers and will be fun for the whole family. Construction on this will begin next year.

Disney Cruise Line is expanding even more! Four new ships will debut between 2027 and 2031 bringing the fleet total to 13! Ship designs, names and details will come at a later time.

Millennial Falcon: Smugglers Run will be getting an update! Mando and Grogu will join the attraction for an all new adventure curated by Epic Games. No details on when this will debut as of yet.

The final and biggest announcement of all is at Magic Kingdom! The long teased and now officially announced Villains land is coming! The land will feature two major attractions as well as shopping, dining and more. Work on this will begin next year.
