Beginning back in 2020, Capture Your Moment Photopass sessions have since expanded to all four Walt Disney World theme parks. These private 20-minute sessions are $79 and can be booked up to 60-days in advance. Guests are allowed to chose from various locations in the park they reserve and can have up to eight people in a session.

During runDisney’s Springtime Surprise Weekend, I decided to give this special opportunity a try. A quick disclaimer, I did book this at $50 which was the price when I booked. Since then, the price has increased to $79 like I mentioned above. My park of choice was Magic Kingdom.

Disney tells guests to check in 15 minutes prior to the time you have booked. At the Magic Kingdom, the check in location is the Town Square Theater. When you enter the check in stand is to the right. The cast member will then pair you with your Photopass photographer. Before you head out the photographer will mention possible locations and ask if you want to use any props that they have available. This is mostly signs to hold and stuff like that. For me, I wanted mostly castle photos and did choose to have a sign that noted the challenge I just completed. They had runDisney signs prepped for photos already. They can do things for proposals, marriage, baby announcements and more as well.

After that, my photographer and an assistant walked with me to the hub area near the castle. Here we set up and took several different photos. The two cast members had several ideas they wanted to try with me as well. Not only do thy welcome what you want of course but they also work on their skills and trying to give the guest a great experience. I really enjoyed working with the cast members on coming up with new creative shots.

The majority of the photos we took were in the hub. As you can see we went through several different set ups and poses. Some of these I never would have thought of myself. The cast members then had the idea of another location on the other side of the castle which intrigued me. You are able to utilize multiple locations as long as you stay inside your time limit. On the way to the next stop we did stop on the path next to the castle for another shot.

They took me to Sword in the Stone which I would have never thought to do myself. Not only that but they had me stand on the opposite side of the stone so the castle was in the background rather than the carousel which I thought was a really unique point of view.

This was one of those add on experience I was not sure would be worth it or not but now having done it and seeing how personalized and interactive with the guest it can be I would do this again in a heart beat. My hope is to book this again for Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. If you have any sort of special occasion or even just a family trip you want to commemorate, this is well worth the cost.
