Carnival Cruise Line is back in Jacksonville! This is the first major cruise ship to sail from JAXPORT in nearly two years. Carnival Spirit will make five-day sailings to the Bahamas with stops in Nassau and Princess Cays. Today’s debut sailing is part of Carnival’s Sailabration festivities to celebrate 50 years of Carnival Cruise Line.
To commemorate the return and the special day, Carnival Cruise Line Vice President of Guest Operations Sarah Beth Reno and JAXPORT Board Chair Wendy Hamilton hosted a “Back to Fun” and 50th Birthday celebration. Carnival and Jacksonville have partnered since 2004 when Carnival began offering itineraries from JAXPORT to the Bahamas and eventually, the Eastern Caribbean. Prior to the pandemic, Carnival welcomed approximately 150,000 guests on more than 70 cruises from Jacksonville.
Carnival Spirit will sail on four- and five-day Bahamas itineraries. Carnival Elation will move to Jacksonville in late April and sail there through 2024. Elation will also add seven-day cruises to the Eastern Caribbean.
