The Walt Disney Company announced today that they will be relocating approximately 2,000 jobs from Southern California to a new location in Lake Nona, Florida. The company says the move will help consolidate and promote collaboration.

Disney has not yet specified what positions will make the move but it will primarily focus within the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products division. The move has reportedly been in the works since 2019. Disney of course, already has a large presence in the central Florida area operating Walt Disney World and other aspects of the company there. This move will add to that.

Disney made note to say they are not abandoning Souther California as this move is a fairly insignificant amount of their staff in the state. Employees will be offered assistance in moving and the move will be gradual over the next 18 months.
