Each Friday, the Crescent Lake Club brings you the latest Foodie Find – a review of a dish, cocktail or even a restaurant that you’ve been missing out on!
Prior to November 2020, I had never been to The Hollywood Brown Derby unless you count the outdoor lounge for a beverage. Our Crescent Lake Club crew decided to take a lunch break there on our November trip and I fell in love with an offering there.
I am not the most adventurous eater and my Crescent Lake Club friends can attest to that. However they have gotten me to try new things on our travels together. One thing I’ve always loved and will always love is a good burger. There are very few meals I enjoy more and really I’m not sure if there is anything I enjoy more. When I saw one on the menu at The Hollywood Brown Derby I had to give it a go.
The Brown Derby Signature Burger as it’s titled on the menu is a Waygu beer burger with pastrami, gruyére cheese, heirloom tomato, a fried egg, cognac mustard with a side of hand cut fries.
I know for some the fried egg may throw you off. A fried egg on a burger is one of my favorite toppings. If a restaurant has a burger like that I always have to give it a try. The fried egg can definitely create a messy component however, and I would recommend cutting it at least in half. Having the egg soak into the bun and then adding in the flavors of the cheese, pastrami, and mustard is making me crave the burger as I write this.
A lot of burgers at Walt Disney World leave a lot to be desired. They are fine but nothing I want to go back for. That’s not this burger. In January I went back and had to get it again. The Hollywood Brown Derby is known for its famous Cobb Salad but I know it for its signature burger. It would be hard pressed for me on future visits to give something else a try. For me this is the best burger on Walt Disney World property.
While The Hollywood Brown Derby is a signature restaurant the pricing isn’t necessarily crazy at least in terms of other Disney options. The burger is priced at $24.00 and in my eyes it’s well worth it. Upon arrival at The Hollywood Brown Derby you do get water and fresh bread. This restaurant also has a very extensive drink menu.
Do you agree with this burger being the best on property? If not, tell me where you have found the best burger down below!
