Each Friday, the Crescent Lake Club brings you the latest Foodie Find — a review of a dish, cocktail or even restaurant that you’ve been missing out on!

The 2021 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is ongoing now through November 20th and there is so much to choose from during this annual festival. Every year there seems to be some sort of food stroll or challenge. This year Emile’s Fromage Montage features five menu items throughout the Food and Wine Marketplaces. At each stop you can collect a stamp in your festival passport. Once you have collected five stamps you can receive a special completer treat!

The first item on the list is at the Greece Marketplace which is located between Morocco and Japan. The Griddled Cheese served with pistachios and honey is $4.50. This item is as the description says, griddled cheese. Disney doesn’t even list what kind of cheese it is. I enjoyed this item. Not my favorite of the tour but a solid option. I do love cheese so its hard to go wrong with some cheese on a plate.

Stop number two can be found in one of my favorite countries to grab a bite to eat or an adult beverage. Germany featured the Schinkennudeln and no please do not make me pronounce that because it is not pretty. This item is a pasta gratin with ham, onions and cheese of course. This was also $4.50 and to me was basically like a baked mac and cheese. If I am not mistaken you can get this or something just like it in Biergarten. This ranks above the griddled cheese for me but was not my favorite item.

Stop number three on the list but actually the first stop I made on my journey was Crispy Barbecue Pork Rinds from The Swanky Saucy Swine. This marketplace is a new one for 2021’s festival. The pork rinds are served with pimento cheese and cost $4.75. This is actually the worst item I had. I have never had pork rinds before but these were incredibly hard. Like crack your teeth hard. The cheese was fine, nothing to write home about but fine. I didn’t finish this item because I didn’t like it much at all. I would put this at the bottom of the list.

Item number four on the montage was my favorite of the five. The Passion Fruit Cheesecake served at the Hawaii Marketplace is $4.25 and has toasted macadamia nuts. Like I said my favorite of the five items. I commented when I had this that a side of ice cream would have made this even better because it was so hot outside. I love dessert and cheesecake is an item I rarely pass up so that is a big reason why this tops mu list.

Last but not least. was the Corned Beef Corner Route from Flavors of Fire hosted by The NFL on ESPN. The name is weird but theming is everything I guess. This is smoked corned beef with crispy potatoes, cheese curds, pickled onions, and beer cheese fondue for $5.50. This is the most expensive item of the montage. While it did say crispy potatoes they were potato chips. Which was fine but not exactly what was described. Definitely got the corned beef and cheese curds but it seemed light on the beer cheese fondue. If we are going all out on cheese go all out on cheese please. Overall, enjoyable but not my top item.

That brings us to the finishers prize/treat! After spending a grand total of $23-ish on all five items you get a souvenir wine “glass.” The glass is not glass but rather a durable plastic. With that is strawberry cheesecake soft serve with actual chucks of cheesecake. Remember how I said that I wanted ice cream with my cheesecake earlier? Well I got my wish! Given how hot it was the day I did the montage this was the perfect way to end and this would rank over all five items. I loved it. I do wish I could buy just this item. I won’t be going back to do the entire month again for it though.

Overall, I really enjoyed Emile’s Fromage Montage. It got me to try some items I probably wouldn’t have otherwise and I got a great souvenir at the end. Let me know if you have taken part in this challenge and what you thought of the items!
