Welcome back to Foodie Find Friday here on the Crescent Lake Club. This week we return to what was a CLC favorite in The Wave but in its new iteration. Back in July 2021, Disney closed The Wave for something new. Steakhouse 71 is a brighter more open space that celebrates the history of not only the Contemporary Resort but Walt Disney World as a whole.
A lot of people have given Steakhouse 71 rave reviews since it opened so of course I had to check it out. Now I did not get to try lunch or dinner just yet but went for breakfast on a recent trip to see how it matched up to previous Wave breakfast trips. One thing I want to add before moving on is that as part of the restaurant renovation the entire main lobby of the Contemporary was also redone with Disney Legend Mary Blair flare and retro vibes. It is something that a Disney fan is bound to love and fits very well with the resort.
I was seated fairly on time to my reservation time. The restaurant was not completely full though. Now I did have a full day ahead of me at the Magic Kingdom so I did not spring for bottomless mimosas especially since I was by myself as well. Now I did get a “Wake Up Call” beverage however. I decided on the Tequila Sunrise.
This was an enjoyable beverage for the morning. I probably do prefer a mimosa but this was nice drink to have and something to get me started before my day at the Magic Kingdom. The Tequila Sunrise is $13 which is on the cheaper end of the alcoholic morning beverages.
Moving onto my main course, I went with something I had before at the Wave. I went with the American which includes two eggs cooked to order, breakfast potatoes, and a choice of bacon, and pork or chicken sausage. The breakfast menu is pretty similar to what was offered before at the Wave so if you did enjoy that you should find something here as well.
I will say it is hard to screw up breakfast. They certainly didn’t here and I was very happy with my choices. Steakhouse 71 so far lives up to the hype for me. I do need to go back to try out lunch or dinner and the lounge. One of my favorite things about the Wave was visiting the lounge as a midday break from Magic Kingdom or after a day in the parks.
Another great thing about Steakhouse 71 is pricing. For a Disney restaurant this will not break your bank. I was very pleased with my visit. Service was great, and I couldn’t find anything to complain about. So, I That is going to do it this week for our Foodie Find. Steakhouse 71 is a hit for us!
