As the Crescent Lake Club continues its quest to find the official brunch of the CLC we had to of course make a stop at Wine Bar George. This restaurant is of course known for its wine. It is run by George Miliotes, a master sommelier. On weekends they do a special brunch whereas for lunch and dinner every day they specialize in small plates, charcuterie, and of course the wine.
Wine Country Brunch as it is called is available on Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 AM – 2:00 PM. You can make advanced dining reservations via OpenTable or the Walt Disney World website/app.
For this particular meal we were sat on the second level. This restaurant has two levels, the main level features a large bar and the kitchen. Upstairs is the majority of the seating including a more private dining room that can be used for special occasions. They also have a walk up window for drinks and second level outdoor seating on the balcony.
For my drink, I had to go with something Disney-fied. The Frozcato Mimosa with Dole Whip was a great way to start the day. I had literally went from the airport straight to brunch on this day. Others at the table got the Friezling with Dole Whip lime and Frosé in a reusable corkcicle.
The table also had “The Big Board” which includes six artisanal cheeses and five artisanal meats. They do offer just a cheese board, and a charcuterie board as well.
For my main plate I got the Fried Chicken Biscuit. This is house-made biscuits topped with pimento cheese, and pieces of crispy fried chicken on top. On top of the chicken is bacon and a sunny side egg! It is served with a side of cole slaw as well. This biscuit was fantastic! I would go back just for this in a heartbeat. The bad news though is it appears it’s not currently on the menu. I do hope this is only temporary and it returns soon. Others at the table did get the Burrata and Wine Country Omelette. Nobody from the Crescent Lake Club crew had complaints about the food or service at Wine Bar George.
If you are looking for a great casual brunch Wine Bar George is fantastic option. This is a bit pricier than some of the options next door at The Boathouse brunch however. I feel it is still very much worth it.
Stay tuned as we will soon crown the official brunch of the Crescent Lake Club!
Have you been to Wine Bar George for brunch? And if so, what did you think?
