Work continues on Harmonius, the new nighttime spectacular expected to debut at EPCOT later this year. While Walt Disney World has not given any official information for when this new show will debut, recently leaked corporate event sales packages hint at an October 2021 premiere.
Harmonious is said to tell a story of global connection and celebration; the nighttime show will be a tribute to the power of story and songs that unite us using music and visuals from Disney films and artists around the world.
Disney has been working on several different aspects of the show in recent weeks — most recently, pyrotechnic and lighting tests have been seen — and now we have our first look at the central barge, a large ring-shaped apparatus, positioned in the middle of World Showcase Lagoon. Disney says they have been doing a lot of work on the show remotely as they program and record various elements.
When Harmonious is finally complete and ready for showtime, it will be one the the largest nighttime shows Disney has ever done. The five different show platforms are positioned in World Showcase Lagoon, representing a compass. The center ring stands six stories tall and will support a high-density water curtain, lighting, fountains, and more.
