Today on Good Morning America, Disney announced more details on what is to come with the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebration.
First, we have the highly anticipated show nighttime spectacular Harmonious at Epcot! This one of a kind show will debut October 1st alongside Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
That is not all of course. Magic Kingdom is the heart of this celebration as the park turning 50. A brand new nighttime spectacular called Disney Enchantment will debut to celebrate the occasion. Here is what Disney says about this:
“A new nighttime spectacular, “Disney Enchantment,” will help kick off the 50th anniversary festivities when it debuts Oct. 1 at Magic Kingdom Park. Created to launch with “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” this evening extravaganza will take you on a journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment. Inspiring everyone to believe in magic, “Disney Enchantment” will feature music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks and, for the first time, immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.”
Over at Animal Kingdom a brand new daytime show will be coming to the Discovery River Amphitheater called Disney KiteTails. This show will perform multiple times daily. Guests will see kites and windcatchers of all sizes including some attached to jet skis like we saw in Epcot Forever.
Mickey and friends will be the hosts of this one of a kind celebration. Their all new EARidescent look will debut on October 1st, and you will be able to see them in a brand new “Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade.”
Disney is continuing the 50th decor with special golden statues around the park. Mickey and seven other friends will be showcased in special statues near Cinderella Castle. A total of 50 golden statues will be placed across all four Walt Disney World parks.
An all new book about the 50 years of Walt Disney World will be released in conjunction with the 50th anniversary as well! “Walt Disney World: A Portrait of the First Half Century” will be available for purchase beginning September 28th.
Will you be heading to Walt Disney World for the 50th celebration?
