Each Friday, the Crescent Lake Club brings you the latest Foodie Find — a review of a dish, cocktail or even restaurant that you’ve been missing out on!
We know – you’ve heard of the tasty Bread Service offering at Sanaa. The cult favorite at Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge keeps diners making the trek for a plate of fresh-griddled naan and a paddle of nine accompaniments – ranging from sweet to savory to cool to spicy.
Bread Service at Sanaa is the app that eats like a meal, and still leaves you wanting to come back for more — in fact, it was one of the FIRST to-go offerings made available on Walt Disney World property when the resorts reopened amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.
So, if you’re like the rest of the Crescent Lake Club … you’re always looking for the next big thing. And you’re in luck, because we’ve found it! Look no further than the Ale & Compass Lounge at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort!
Nestled behind a fake wall, the Ale & Compass Lounge is one of my favorite places in all of the Walt Disney World resort – a laid-back but lovely lounge that features a great wine list and high-end liquor options. On top of that, great snacks from the kitchen at Ale & Compass. Take a look at some appetizers available during operating hours at the Ale & Compass Lounge:
The food menu at Ale & Compass Lounge is a nice cross-section of offerings, but we’re focused on one thing …. the Parker House Rolls and Spreads! And boy, are they worth your attention.
Each order of Parker House Rolls comes with five crusty Parker House Rolls that are butter-basted and topped with sea salt and green onions. These bread beauties are accompanied by pub cheese spread, bacon jam and citrus butter. While each spread is delicious on its own, it’s a flavor symphony pairing them together – we particularly like the pub cheese and bacon jam together!
At $13, the Parker House Rolls are a great Happy Hour sharing item – but also are filling enough to be a “meal” with leftovers for the next morning.
So next time you need a break from Epcot or Hollywood Studios, pop in to the Ale & Compass Lounge for a cocktail and the Parker House Rolls! Trust us – you won’t be disappointed.
