Royal Caribbean’s all-new Oasis Class ship, Utopia of the Seas will be here before you know it! The Ultimate Short Getaway cruise ship has begun sea trials in Saint-Nazaire, France ahead of its debut in Port Canaveral Florida in July 2024.
This five day test is one of the final construction milestones ahead of a ship being turned over to the company. Over 900 experts and specialists are involved making sure Utopia is pushed to the limits and everything is ready to go ahead of its debut. Everything from how the ship moves in open water to navigation systems, engine performance and more are tested. Utopia of the Seas will cover more than 1,000 miles during the five-day trial and once complete will go back to the shipyard in Chantiers de l’Atlantique for the final phase of construction.
On July 19th, Utopia will welcome its first group of vacationers marking the first time an Oasis Class ship debuts with 3- and 4-night cruises. There are more than 40 ways to celebrate onboard including an all-new experience in Royal Railway.
The Ultimate Weekend Getaway will extended to the shore with stops at Royal Caribbean’s award-winning private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas. Guests can visit the newly opened Hideaway Beach at Perfect Day at CocoCay as well.
