Today we got our first in person glimpse at the 50th anniversary decor coming to Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom!
Walt Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley shared the first piece installed on the castle. This is only the beginning of a decked out celebratory look for Cinderella Castle. The castle decor will not only shine during the day but become a “beacon of magic” at night as well.
The castle is not the only place getting love in preparation for the 50th anniversary though. This week it was announced the Main Street Confectionary will close later this month (March 29th) and reopen May 22nd. Don’t worry though you can still satisfy your sweet tooth next door at the Main Street Cinema where a temporary sweet shop will be set up. The Main Street Cinema will be closed from March 22nd-March 28th to prepare for the new temporary sweet shop.
That’s not all at the Magic Kingdom. Recently we saw It’s a Small World get a glistening exterior refurbishment and now Peter Pan’s Flight is getting the same! Scrims are up right now as the facade gets a fresh look.
Stay tuned as we await more updates in preparation for the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary. Let us know what you’re most excited for.
