Disney gave us our first look at the all new Polynesian Village resort guest rooms this morning!
These reimagined rooms feature a brand new color palette inspired by the Pacific Ocean and it’s many islands. You will also find details from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film “Moana.”
The rooms include all new furnishings and fixtures. The bathrooms include new tiles inspired by the sandy ocean floor as well as carved details within the vanity. The colorful changes bring a whole new life to these rooms. The Polynesian Village Resort is now accepting bookings for late July 2021. The rooms are not the only changes you will see. The porte cochere is in the midst of a huge overhaul that will feature a new high pitched roof covered in a thatch style. The new monorail station will have wooden screens in tropical colors adding to the open airy vibe similar to that of the South Seas.
Disney notes this is part of an overall evolution of the Disney resort hotels and they will be “infusing” even more Disney related touches throughout the resorts. All of this in time for the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary!
Teetz’s Take
I cannot say enough good things about these room upgrades! To me prior to these changes the rooms were quite dark and sort of left a lot to be desired. I have always loved the Polynesian and this enhances this. The new entry way and these new rooms will take this resort to a new level. I cannot wait to see them in person. I am also very interested to see what is next. The Contemporary is set to see room upgrades later this year and the Wilderness Lodge is in the midst of such now.
The “Moana” additions to these rooms are not blatant and add some fun details for the whole family. I know many were worried about just how much those film additions would intrude on this resort. I think Disney did a great job keeping it subtle but still having fun with it.
Are you excited for these new rooms? Those of us at Crescent Lake Club can help you book one as well so contact us for more details!
